LNB-sharing for DiSEqC [BETA]

Hello! Due to public demand I included DiSEqC support into the configurable LNB-sharing patch. This feature is beta and still needs testing. I'd say NVIDIA card has best acceleration (MPEG-playback) support for X servers. It includes 2048x2048 XV overlays for HDTV support if card is new enough (Geforce 3 I think is the oldest model, but I might be wrong). Lot of people are running with G400 series card, but I think it doesn't allow accelerated HDTV playback. I hope VDR could do aspect ratio thing this via signal tweaking (dreambox always 16:9-mode) or WSS-signals. My setup isn't the best, I run standard KDE desktop and it works. But it is a bit heavy system.. :-) Initial trials I made with TVWM which worked ok. You just need to make a decision how you want to drive your plasma TV: - 1080i, probably TV's deinterlacer generates progressive frames with low VDR cpu - 720p, xine has to make deinterlace => eats cpu cycles - native 1:1 resolution of plasma TV => same as 720p Also Europeans sucked at defining 50Hz HDTV-modes (IMHO), not neccessarily you TV-set supports that. Major HDTV material is 60Hz or 24fps, and now for us it needs to be downconverted, because it was decided by 'idiots'. With PAL we got a larger resolution with 50Hz system compared to NTSC on similar video bandwidth. But with 720p/50 or 1080i/50 we do not gain anything. Just degraded quality. Ok, enough whining. So your plasma might not support 1080i @ 50Hz, so euro-DVB video might judder. This information should be found on manual or net. SMPTE 296M-2001 (720p/50Hz) modeline is already archived at vdr mailing list. I also have SMPTE 274M timings (1080i/50). ATSC 60Hz modelines are available on multiple places at Net. [PATCH] vdr-1.3.21: keep language name on audio menu in transfer mode

The attached patch is a quick hack to keep the language names in the audio menu in transfer mode. I had to add a boolean in cPlayer because I don't think it's possible to do class introspection in C++ (in Object Pascal I'd just do an "if not Player is cTransferControl then ClrAvailableTracks"). Audio description wrong

Hi, I have seen that on a channel (hotbird, multivision 3), the audio descrition is in the wrong order : for the french channel it is "audio stereo eng" and for the english one it is "audio stereo fra". I don't know if it is a vdr bug or a bug in the info send by the provider, but I believe it could be usefull to add to the description the channel language ie "description" become "description (lang)". thanks Matthieu

Hi, In YLE channels (in Finland) there are gaps between programs (in EPG-data) and yaepg draws only first program and then 'No Info' bar even when there are more programs. Attached is a small patch for yaepg-0.0.2 which adds code to search for next program. It also changes granularity for text box drawing from 5 minutes to 1 minute because YLE has some 4:30min programs (which are drawn as thin lines if granularity is 5min). Hi again all, I finally managed to get my system installed in such a way that I can have both NPTL and LinuxThreads versions of glibc installed at the same time. However it's proving a headache. VDR (1.3.21 down to 1.3.19 - I've not tried anything below this) hangs on recording and becomes totally unresponsive - no input from the console is read, no response from SVDRP, nothing is displayed via the DVB card. Over on http://vdr-portal.de somebody just pointed out that today marks VDR's fifth anniversary! On February 19, 2000, the initial revision of VDR has been written. Mplayer plugin and slave mode patch rejected

I often use the mplayer plugin for vdr and was tired of constantly having to patch the svn of mplayer. So, I asked the guys over at mplayerhq if they could incorporate the slave mode patch we use. I was hoping that working with them could help solve the problem with the mplayer plugin showing the incorrect time when playing back native vdr files.
