Hi, I have a little problem with this version playing a DVD. It is working very well with : Vdr-1.3.17 + patch Ac3OverDvb + dvd-0.3.5-b07-cvs + bitstreamout-0.50e And I have no sound (and basicly no signal coming out) with this : Vdr-1.3.21 + bitstreamout-0.70 + dvd-cvs-20050207 I have a Sony DD830QS Do you have a clue what I can do have more information to investigate, because I have no error message at all ... Yes it's this one, it seems to be normal see : http://www.vdr-wiki.de/wiki/index.php/DD-Receiver That's why I have to use the bitstreamout plugins. I'm using a very simple card (CMI8738), I don't remember the name. It is almost the same as this one : http://www.evendi.de/kompon/22/21278.html with a digital output connect.

I also agree, but I can be very ignorant on this. HDTV is a 'computer' display. And don't see any banding on my computer monitor which runs with 50Hz mains and 85Hz VGA. Or should I see, and what I should look for? Also majority of HDTV displays are non-tube based (if hum bars are tube-based problem). Generally Plasma, TFT/LCD or DLP is the main choise for high definition. And all those tend to sample input signal (if analog), run some algorithms (deinterlace, pulldown det. and inv. telecines) and store frame into internal framebuffer and output it for your pleasure. renaming recordings with vdradmin

Hi, I updated my patches which can be used for renaming of recordings with vdradmin: http://www.kippe6mark.de/vdr/data/vdr-aio21_svdrprename.patch http://www.kippe6mark.de/vdr/data/vdradmin-0.96-rename.diff This patch adds a rename feature to svdrp (RENR). My patch is based on the rename patch, so you need to patch vdr with enAIO2.1 first. The second patch is based on a plain vdradmin-0.96. Carsten Presser.

No problem, all HDTV titles and games played nice, but OS was WinXP (and no powerstrip -> default driver timings offered for HDTV by NVidia, driver implemented underscanning also worked fine). I have also ran 1080i with Linux, GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE and DVI. But overscan on my projector was so large that I could not use computer via that so I changed to native 1:1 pixel mapping (1366x768). I can re-check my setup with 1080i and latest NVidia linux-driver. Display is Sony VPL-HS10 projector, with 10m DVI cable. Best regards, Jori

"device 1 has no lock, can't attach receiver", how to diagnose the problem?

Hi folks, I'm pulling mai hair off with this. I have only installed a new gentoo (stock gentoo 2.6.10 kernel, DVB drivers for my Nova-S from this kernel), nptl enabled (I still have the old gentoo on another partition, nptl-enabled, too, where VDR works, for what I'm doing with VDR until now, I never had these famous NPTL-related problems), only this time udev-enabled. Well, after figuring out how to setup the dvb devices with udev in /dev/dvb/, I thought all was set, I copyed my old /etc/vdr configuration files over from the old partition and expected VDR (tried 1.3.18, 1.3.20, 1.3.21) to just work. But it doesn't. I'm either getting "Channel unavailable" on the OSD, or "device 1 has no lock, can't attach receiver" in the log file. With dvbscan from dvb-apps I can generate a channels.conf from each of the 4 LNBs attached to my diseqc switch (Amos, Sirius, Eutelsat W2 and Astra), and I didn't change anything in the VDR's diseqc.conf. Well, I do not actually know if the fact that I can scan the transponders with dvbscan means that everything should be OK. How/what could I test further? I was thinking of using szap to tune to a channel and check if mplayer works, but I can't find out how to tell szap to choose one of the LNBs. So what any other ideas do you guys have? What other information do you need to know, as I'm so frustrated right now I didn't manage to think of all information needed? Thanx a lot in advance Lucian

Hi, I watched some German TV a few days ago while playing with config stuff. I can no longer get a lock on anything at 19.2E. I guess that it is just me but still... Can't understand what might have gone wrong Tony Grant

can't get xine plugin to work

I've installed the vdr-xine plugin "2005-02-13: Version 0.7.1" When xine starts I can see some vdr references : xine --verbose=2 load_plugins: plugin /usr/local/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/post/xineplug_post_vdr.so found load_plugins: plugin /usr/local/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/xineplug_inp_vdr.so found but when vdr starts, there's an error.
