Introduction
The Video Disk Recorder is a Linux software from Klaus Schmidinger. It is used to receive digital TV and Radio programs with a Personal Computer. If you wish you can record and playback those recordings at will.
Like any other Hifi equipment VDR can be controlled through remote controls. The user interface is a menu displayed on the television (On Screen Display).
The software is released under the GPL. Everybody can download and use the source code freely. Also there exists many extensions in form of Plugins and Patches, e.g. a DVD player or a MP3 player.
