New question: why do ITV3 programs not show in vdradmin? They are in my captured xml file
<programme start="20051102060000 UTC" stop="20051102065500 UTC" channel="itv3.itv.co.uk"> <title>Survival</title> <sub-title>Vanishing Tribes of Africa Karamajong</sub-title> <desc lang="en">Award-winning nature documentary series.</desc> <category lang="en">Documentary</category> <video> <aspect>16:9</aspect> </video> </programme>

Hi,
vdradmin has nothing to do with your xml file. So the first thing to do would be to check if VDR shows the EPG for that channel. If it does it should also appear in VDRAdmin.
It it's not present in VDRAdmin you'll have to check the configuration menu if you have setup channel selection and check the vdradmind.conf file if there's set something like EPG_PRUNE. Maybe a simple VDRAdmin restart helps.
BTW: what VDRAdmin version are you using?
Regards, Andreas
P.S.: I'd suggest you'd give more information on your configuration like version numbers etc. in upcoming posts as this will help people to help YOU.

No it does not. Why is that the case? It is in the epg datafile.

The latest. I am one of your followers!

Like in my signature on vdr portal? =;-p
I am trying to understand the relationship between vdradmin and the vdr epg data. I use vdradmin much more than I use tvonscreen for example. I like to program my recordings way ahead so I use vdradmin for that. I am feeding vdradmin with xmltv2vdr and always have 10 days advance programming.
All was working well with just the BBC the problem arose when I added the new ITV channels.

VDRAdmin doesn't fetch the EPG data on every click you perform but it caches the data for a configurable time (default 60min). In the meantime you don't get EPG updates in VDRAdmin. Can you check if EPG shows if you force VDRAdmin to refresh its cache? Try "killall -sHUP vdradmind.pl".

How should one know you're on vdr portal and what's your nick there?

Maybe you want to always run "killall -sHUP vdradmind.pl" after running xmltv2vdr?

OK so when I do feed xmltv2vdr I am filling the channel information for 14 days in the .xml file?
The chronolgy and playing now data is from vdr epg data file?
Correct?
Both of those places have data for ITV3. It won't show either in vdr or in vdradmin.

This film features a study of wildlife in the sometimes hostile environment of St Andrews Bay, South Georgia on the Falkland Islands.
Does VDR show a schedule for the ITV3 channel?

I threw all the files away and ran xmltv2vdr again and ITV3 appeared. I am guessing that something had corrupted a file somewhere down the line. Maybe when I had too many channels and the file was too big...
Thanks
