Try to use a number > 0 for the -frames parameter in line 277 of the mplayer.sh script, e.g. 10. Does this help?

sorry, currently I can't check - I uninstalled mplayer plugin and moved to XBMC + VDR

no, no chance - i changed the value of this parameter as showed above.

just to mention - directly under X i can start the sample and it's playing more or less (interlacing-steps, ..) ok.
