This probably isn't anyhow related to this thread but I get following messages in dmesg output: vdr-fbfe[21775]: segfault at 000004d0 eip b7207719 esp bfd4c9e0 error 4 vdr-fbfe[22134]: segfault at 000004d0 eip b720a719 esp bfcfa190 error 4
It's not a big problem as it's only related to exiting the frontend either with keyboard ESC or killall vdr-sxfe.
It's the yesterday's cvs version. I can't say when did it start.

Could you update xineliboutput from the cvs and try again? In case you still see the same behaviour, attach your setup.conf (or just the xineliboutput subset) and ~/.xine/config_xineliboutput and tell the exact command you use to start vdr-sxfe.
For your information, I use vdr-sxfe with the current cvs and I don't experience any problems with cropping.

I will try with the CVS version, anyway I don't think it's xineliboutput fault, since it's working on the main PC (also with crop enabled). I suspect it's some dependencies missing on the client...
The obvious one to check is that you have the autocrop post plugin in place: ls `xine-config --plugindir`/post/xineplug_post_autocrop.so
You could start vdr-sxfe with argument "--verbose" and see if there are any complaints in the output.
