No, this cannot be done. The mplayer plugin is very special and
exclusively uses the DVB devices. VDR cannot access them while
mplayer is running.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Disappointing to hear since this is a common problem for me but I guess it is what it is. I do intend to add more dvb cards at some point so I suppose that would clear it up.
