CAM questions

Hi all, I'm thinking about getting a payTV subscription using DVB-C and my provider uses Conax Cas7 CAM with paired cards, so using the official CAM in a CI slot is the only option. I never used CAMs, so I have few (maybe stupid) questions, but I didn't find an answer on the web. Are CI somehow paired with a specific card or tuner? Let's say I have DVB-S with CI (Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-CI PCI) and DVB-C card without CI (TerraTec Cinergy T PCIe dual). Would it work so that the encrypted stream from DVB-C is decrypted by Conax CAM in CI that is attached to DVB-S card? How many channels can be typically decrypted at the same time? Is it limited by the maximum number of pids or by the bandwidth that the CAM is able to decrypt? My goal is to be able to watch one channel and record at least other 2 channels. So I'd like to buy TBS6680 dual tuner with dual CI (but I would use just one CAM and the second CI slot would stay unused). I would use this card together with the TerraTec Cinergy T. So there would be 3 DVB-C tuners and one CAM. Would this combination work as I wish? Regards, Michal

hdhomerun prime

I wonder if there is a plugin for vdr that supports hdhomerun prime ? I was trying to scan my hdhomerun prime with w_scan and I am getting : 22 Invalid argument tune to: QAM256 f=795012 kHz (time: 00:00) set_frontend:1862: ERROR: Setting frontend parameters failed : 22 Invalid argument tune to: QAM256 f=801012 kHz

If you encounter a recording where the time shown in the progress display is not correct, the index is most likely wrong. In such a case please do as follows: - change into the *.rec directory of that recording - rename the file index to index.old (or whatever you like) - run the command vdr --genindex=`pwd` (`pwd` will be replaced by the name of the current directory) - do an ls -l index* and compare the size of the old and new index file. If they are the same, that means that --genindex produces the same index file as did the original recording, and thus I should be able to reproduce the problem here if you send me the first minute of that recording. Now with Vdr 2.1.6 Same channel, same program, same time. (RTL, Alarm fur Cobra 11, 20.15) Recording of RTL and RTL HD are now the same length. Looks OK right now. Webvideo and vdr 2.x segfaults

Hi, Is anyone using succesfully the Webvideo-plugin with vdr 2.x (eg. 2.1.6)? I just get vdr to crash with a segfault when i pick any of the video-sources (Google, Metacafe, Youtube etc) :-( I am using the latest git-source from git://projects.vdr-developer.org/vdr-plugin-webvideo.git René

HD recording size

I'm having a small problem. Some HD recordings are 1/2 in time of the SD recording. Not every HD recording has this problem, but most of the time I record from RTL HD it has. Recording is completed but only the length is wrong. So when I play it back and jump in time, I must jump 60 sec to skip 120 sec etc. VDR 2.1.1 but had the same problem with other versions. Reverted the change : "Changed '%a' to the POSIX compliant '%m' in all scanf() calls " Now it compiles and can read the config files. HD Recording test will start soon.
