Hello all,
here's a proposal for speed control for vdr-dvd. It uses SG_IO and
GPCMD_SET_STREAMING so there's no need for VDR to run as root. The user
needs rw permissions on the drive, though. When the plug-in is
terminated the drive will be set to its initial speed (vacuum cleaner
mode).
The code is heavily based on mplayer (thank you). I tested it with
vdr-1.4.6 and a vdr-dvd snapshot on a NEC ND-3500 and it works just
fine. The user can set the speed between 1x and 4x - I figure that'…
[View More]s
enough - in the OSD plug-in setup. If set to 0 the patch won't kick in.
In case the users sets it to zero _while_ he/she is watching a dvd the
speed will still be reset because of a DvdSetSpeedActive flag.
Kernel and headers have to support the commands for the patch to work
but the plug-in should compile and work even on older kernels.
All feedback is very welcome.
Regards
Sebastian

Hi guys,
I'm running VDR 1.4.0 on my CaptiveWorks CW-3000HD FTA receiver.
I have a DishPro Twin LNB to receive both Nimiq 1 (91.0W) and Nimiq 2
(82.0W)
There is also a Dish Pro DP34 switch between the receiver and lnb.
Everything is working good except that sometimes VDR doesn't tune a channel
correctly.
I just get a black screen.
Usually when I switch from a channel on one satellite to a channel on
another satellite.
I searched the mailing list and found that there may be a patch …

Hi!
Im trying to update vdr 1.4.x to 1.5.11. But my vdr keeps segfaulting every
time when its started. It takes about 2-3 s after starting the vdr to the
segfault. Ive tried running it only with xine-plugin (0.8.0) so far and
without any patches on top of vdr. And im running vdr on Ubuntu Dapper.
GDB gives following backtrace, any ideas? It seems to be something related
to fonts,.. but beyond that I have no idea.

Hi,
I have just added a Nova-T 500 device to my VDR stable setup (1.4.7)
and now have 5 frontends: -
[ 29.735000] DVB: registering frontend 0 (ST STV0299 DVB-S)...
[ 29.955000] DVB: registering frontend 1 (ST STV0299 DVB-S)...
[ 29.976000] DVB: registering frontend 2 (Conexant CX22702 DVB-T)...
[ 30.129000] DVB: registering frontend 3 (DiBcom 3000MC/P)...
[ 30.634000] DVB: registering frontend 4 (DiBcom 3000MC/P)...
The problem I have is that the fifth frontend doesn't work in VDR
(…
[View More]i.e. I can only tune to 2 DVB-T stations simultaneously). If I move
my DVB-TTPCI device to the 5th in the setup I then don't get any
output via the mpeg2 decoder either, proving that the 5th device is
also not being picked up.
Is there a restriction of frontends in VDR and if so, how can I up it?
Regards,
Morfsta

My problem is, that the above link is working, the description is there,
but the link to the modified xmltv2vdr script itself is broken. Anyone can
help me with this modified xmltv2vdr?
Thanks,
Istvan

Dear Fritz!Box- and VDR-Users,
a new version of the Fritz!Box Plugin is available at
http://joachim-wilke.de/index.htm?alias=vdr-fritz
- - -
The Fritz!Box Plugin connects to your Fritz!Box to inform you about
incoming calls. The plugin can automatically mute or pause VDR when a
call comes in.
Via VDR's main menu you can browse your Fritz!Box phone book, the call
lists and initiate calls out of all lists.
- - -
The last changes are:
- code restructuring and cleanup, preparation for …
[View More]multiple phonebooks etc.
- resorted includes for gcc-2.95
- in cMenuCallDetail::SetText(): std::string::npos is not a uint,
using std::string::size_type instead
(patch provided by Axel [15])
- cFritzListener::Action(): using -1 in memset to be compatible with
its arg type
(patch provided by Axel [15])
- added missing copyright notices in all sources
(reported by Thomas [16])
- implemented reverse lookup phonebook via www.das-oertliche.de
- new setup-page for configuring a list of used phonebooks and the
order in which
they are accessed while resolving numbers to names; in the phonebook view
the first displayable phonebook in this list is shown
- adapted README accordingly
- the call list is now fetched asynchroneously at startup,
avoiding the delay in the menu; to keep it up to date, it is
reloaded after every call automatically
- new makefile target "srcdoc" to generate source code documentation
- Improved the 'i18n' target in the Makefile to avoid unnecessary work
as suggested by
vdr-1.5.11
- - -
Regards,
Joachim.
