Hi Grant,
We're still experiencing a high delay on patch series that contain DT patches, even with the recent DT changes.
Are you in San Jose this week for ELC? If so, do you have time for an informal meeting, with me and some V4L2 sub-maintainers that will also be here during this week?
Regards, Mauro
Unfortunately I will not be there. I've got family in town.

Ah, Ok.
Well, maybe we could discuss it via e-mail. We're trying to solve the issues we're facing with DT driver stuff. Currently, I'm requiring a DT maintainer review on DT stuff (timing out after ~1 month, if they can't get any ack), as DT is currently badly affecting patch merging (e. g. we had several cases were stuff got delayed to the next Kernel release due to the lack of DT maintainer's reviews).
So, I'm thinking on doing a different process here: having someone (Sylwester, if he accepts the job ;) - as Sylwester is the one that submitted most of the DT stuff ATM, being the most experienced media sub-maintainer with regards to DT) to act as an ad-hoc DT maintainer, reviewing the DT drivers patches.
Would that work for you?
Sylwester,
If Grant acks, would you willing to do this job for us?
Thanks, Mauro

As I mentioned in a reply to another e-mail, DT maintainers have little knowledge about video devices, so there's a large part of the bindings that they might have trouble reviewing. Having V4L2 developers to review our DT bindings would thus be valuable. Of course an outsider's view on our bindings can also be useful to pinpoint issues that we don't see due to not taking a step back.
Would that work for you?
Sylwester,
If Grant acks, would you willing to do this job for us?

I'm not sure if we need yet another person as a DT binding maintainer. Even now I could observe some inconsistencies in opinions from the DT maintainers which are active on the mailing lists.
I intend to keep reviewing the DT related patches on the LMML, then I guess my review (mostly for the simpler stuff touching single drivers) might have been sufficient if there is no explicit response from a DT binding maintainer.
I'd just make sure I got through all the relevant patches. Does it sound like any improvement of the situation ?
