[linux-dvb] Re: AverTV DVB-T un-viewable QAM_64 channels (QAM_16work perfectly) ...massive noise
Uhhh sorry i dont know what happened there?! The mail was supposed to
read.....
im sending this in html in the hope it displays.....................
Hi, this is what i did to specifiy the tuning params i used in my
previous email
The scan made the output
ITV
News:834166670:INVERSION_OFF:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_2_3:FEC_1_2:QAM_64:TRANSMISSION_MODE_2K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE:2850:2851:8588
And so i ran
gentoo dvbtune-0.5 # ./dvbtune -f834166670 -p2850 -a2851 -qam64 -gi32
-tm2 -bw8 -cr2_3 -m
Signal=65535, Verror=959, SNR=32711dB, BlockErrors=0, (S|L|C|V|SY|)
Signal=65535, Verror=26, SNR=37481dB, BlockErrors=0, (S|L|C|V|SY|)
Signal=65535, Verror=44, SNR=37241dB, BlockErrors=0, (S|L|C|V|SY|)
Signal=65535, Verror=36, SNR=37433dB, BlockErrors=0, (S|L|C|V|SY|)
Signal=65535, Verror=21, SNR=37817dB, BlockErrors=0, (S|L|C|V|SY|)
Signal=65535, Verror=20, SNR=35992dB, BlockErrors=0, (S|L|C|V|SY|)
Signal=65535, Verror=37, SNR=36552dB, BlockErrors=0, (S|L|C|V|SY|)
Ive also tried to # tzap "ITV News" and i get lock as follows
gentoo dvbtune-0.5 # tzap "ITV News"
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
tuning to 834166670 Hz
status 01 | signal ffff | snr 8198 | ber ffffffff | unc ffffffff |

And then if i try to stream it with dvbstream
gentoo store # dvbstream -f834166670 -v2850 -a2851 -qam64 -gi1_32 -cr2_3
-bw8 -tm2 -o
dvbstream v0.6 - (C) Dave Chapman 2001-2004
Released under the GPL.
Latest version available from http://www.linuxstb.org/
dvbstream will stop after -1 seconds (71582788 minutes)
Setting filter for PID 0
Output to stdout
Streaming 1 stream
<then i get the mpeg data streaming to stdout>
But i have noticed something very wierd, when i pipe it into
mplayer..... if i did a normal qam16 channel the cache would fill up in
maybe 2-3 seconds...but if i try this channel it takes 30 seconds to
even get to 1%
And i can actually watch the stdout output and its slow enough to read
evey line..... and one more thing......there is a repeating part of data
that i see almost every time it outputs ... see link below (i had to put
the data on my pastecode service because the encoding was screwing up
the email when i sent it to the list ... please check it out its wierd)
