[linux-dvb] Unique identifier

I am looking for a unique identifier on the various DVB cards that are
supported by the driver.
I wish to use the layer 2 network capabilities of the driver without
having to set a IEEE 48 bits MAC adress from the user level, so I need
something in the eeprom (or somewhere else) that could be fill at
least the device 24 bits.

Does anyone has a hint for me?
