[linux-dvb] Re: scantv not working

Hi Marcus,

I do not have a complet picture yet how all these applications work together
but as far as I understand I need tuxview which uses xawtv to show the
picture and I need tuxzap to switch the channels. After some help of this
newsgroup I was able to compile al taxzap applications that come with the
Siemens DVB driver, but I am not able to switch channels with tuxzap and I
cannot find documentation or figure out what to do, so I found out that
scantv could make channel list and now you are telling me that I should not
use it that way.

Can you explain me wat to do to get it working?

The DVB card is not a TV tuner card. You need to use the DVB API for
tuning because it is not as trivial as setting a frequency.
You can use tuxzap from the driver package or vdr for tuning channels.
